When I first sat down to watch this movie, I didn't have high hopes for it. Reading other reviews, I imagined it to be an over-hyped, internet meme inspiring, dull action flick. Was I right? Sort of.
300 is not a bad movie. It certainly could have been better no doubt, but it isn't bad. The action is good though there is many an overuse of dramatic slow motion for the simplest skirmishes. The story manages to make itself known, but isn't paid enough attention.
I didn't love this movie when I finished it, but I was content with it. As a cult movie, it's great but as a Hollywood action flick, it lacks. Not bad but certainly not fantastic.
