Review of 25th Hour (2002) by Paul D — 20 Aug 2017
'Champagne for my real friends...and real pain for my sham friends'!
An entertaining film that gets better as it progresses. Well-acted and well put together. My favourite of the 'Spike Lee Joints' I've seen. Norton and Hoffman's characters both enter in to things they know they shouldn't (on a different scale), but cannot help themselves anyway...and, if viewed like this, I think it's a film that everyone can relate to.
I'm not always Spike Lee's biggest fan, but this is a moving story with some excellent scenes and Norton/Hoffman/Cox in a film = Impossible to suck.
