Review of 2010 (1984) by Alexander J — 19 Jul 2007
It should've never been made in the first place. The cast sort of saves it, but I still ask myself how Hyams and Co. could insist on mutilating Kubrick's legacy. The looks are way too glossy, there are way too many characters, the U.
S.-Russia conflict is dated and there's too much talking. Everything needs to be explained, and the constant sound carpet robs it from its last intriguing message. No longer threatening, nor fascinating, "2010" is only average.
