Review of 2010 (1984) by Connor G — 18 Dec 2012
If we abandon all or our prejudices from the somewhat needless continuation of the solitary masterpiece that is "2001: A Space Odyssey", what we're left with in "2010: The Year We Make Contact" is a contemplative, thrilling space opera for the 1980s, with visual effects to rival that of its predecessor and a plot that remains ten-fold more engaging and exciting than most of the crap audiences are fed.
"2010" is a rare triumph from writer/director Peter Hyams, and easily his best film to date.
