Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Michael P — 19 Mar 2014

2001 is visually spectacular and way ahead of its time, but its story is taxing and the pacing is abysmal. Maybe one needs to read the book to fully grasp the story, but I just sat through two and a half hours of.

.. I don't know. The soundtrack was perfect and visually the movie is stunning (especially for the time period) but overall I wasn't a huge fan and have no plan on revising this in the future. When it comes to Kubrick maybe I should stick to his early comedies, whenever I delve into his more serious works I generally end up disappointed.
