Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Matthew D — 20 Feb 2016
A most exemplary of style over substance, but oh, what style! Kubrick captures on film the feelings of majesty and mystery, awesomeness and terror that have been inspired in us throughout our history whenever humankind contemplates what lies beyond the sky.
That it still has that power, and still looks so good, while it explores the isolation of space, is a testament to its timeless brilliance.
