Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Scubasteve Walter M — 16 Jun 2017
This is undeniably a visual masterpiece. to think there are no cg's at this time, but the special effects and Kubrick's cinematography is far advanced even for films today. With the musical score, it drives the film's theme to a dark, horror-mystery.
My only complaint is Stanley forgot how wonderful the story is. If you didn't read the book, you're left hanging with too many questions, quite distasteful even with all the visual glory. Still it's a good disturbing film that'll haunt you for days.
