Review of 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) by Kahn M — 20 Jun 2018
A film infinitely as pleased with itself as the rest of the world is, Kubrick lets shots and scenes linger far too long in obvious narcissism for his own art. And well it is truly magnificent and awe-inspiring a good amount of the time, Kubrick's cold touch leaves his characters and ambition woefully underdeveloped.
Could've lost another 20 minutes in the cutting room.
