Review of 20,000 Days on Earth (2014) by Daniel G — 30 Mar 2015
One of the most intriguing documentaries I've seen about a man I didn't care much about before I watched it, but was completely infatuated with when I was done. 20,000 Days on Earth does what any good story does it excites you about the subject, and finds a creative and entertaining way to get you invested in the people involved.
Directors Iain Forsyth and Jane Pollard make this happen through beautiful cinematography, great interviews, and some insightful stories about Nick Cave's unique perspective on life and creativity.
Even if you wouldn't want to spend a lot of time with the virtuosic musician, you can't help but admire his immense creativity and intelligence. This is a great film for fans of Cave and his band, and a fan for creative storytelling.
