Review of Monsieur Verdoux (1947) by Lisa A — 07 Oct 2007
This is one of my favorite Chaplin films. No one could make a film about murder as funny as Chaplin has made this. The scene in the boat being a very good example of this. The way he plays the character is wonderful, very elegant and passive.
The women in the film are also played to perfection, most of whom are so annoying you almost want him to kill them.
