Great film, actually two films, both of the Beach Boys creative genius Brian Wilson. Paul Dano plays the young Brian to perfection, as does John Cusack play his even more troubled middle-age self. Paul Giamatti is brilliant as the Svengali-style psychiatrist who comes close to destroying his patient.
My searing moments in the film that follows the complete arc of Wilson's story of his struggles with mental illness, during which he produced some of the most creative songs in American pop music.
