Review of Krush Groove (1985) by Andrew P — 26 Dec 2007
Obviously, horrible acting and a bad script. Still, it does have extreme cultural significance, showing us the struggle of the early days of rap. And the musical numbers are a lot of fun. Hell, this might have worked better as just a concert film.
It's great to see all these artists in one movie, like Run DMC, Kurtis Blow, New Edition, LL Cool J, The Fat Boys, and The Beastie Boys. It's cool because it's like a snap shot of one of my favorite periods of time in the music industry.
It's fun to watch it now, like opening a time capsule.
