Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Gus S — 10 Jan 2009
David Strathairn gives a captivating performance as Edward R. Murrow, the man who dared to question Senator Joseph McCarthy to preserve Americaâ??s ideals and justice. Short, but direct and poignant look at not only the McCarthy era paranoia, but also the untold story of television's early years.
Plays out like a behind the scenes documentary, mostly because of the black and white photography which helps blend the new footage with archive footage. A strong supporting cast makes this a winner all around.
