Review of Dog Bite Dog (2006) by Solomon F — 25 Jan 2009
More raw and intense than than any Hong Kong animal in recent memory, though it retains the of unbelievability to the point of unintentional hilarity of its brethren.
The outstanding element of this film is Edison Chen, who embraces his role naturally. The protagonist is truly fascinating, though none of the other characters, including the antagonist, contain as much depth. The cinematography is topnotch as well, giving the film its breathless atmosphere.
What a shame that Dog Bite Dog cannot escape the omnipresent, terribly illogical action sequences that have ruined many a Hong Kong thriller.
