Review of Power Rangers (2017) by Akelazam — 26 Mar 2017
This movie entertained me and gave me what I was looking for out of new Power Rangers movie. It combined just the right amount of Camp from the original with an updated feel that comes from modern movie.
This movie draws on the lore of the power rangers and combines it with The Breakfast Club and Man of Steel; an abundance of cgi and the drama of a group of teens who have to put their issues aside and work together to save the planet.
The movie tries to stay true to the spirit of power rangers while upgrading it some times unnecessarily. While this movie is designed to appeal to the nostalgia from young adults youth, they tend to tread all over it just for the sake of change.
While I certainly enjoyed the movie and would likely watch it again I recognise that this movie is not for everyone. I think they could have done things better and I am sure some dire hard fans will be upset at some of the changes.
