Review of Lady Bird (2017) by Hallie O — 12 Sep 2018
This film perfectly captures the ephemera of youth in a way that seems dream-like and poignant, I also thought that Gerwig also did a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the Sacramento Delta area and its denizens: naive, earnest and a little unhip.
Laurie Metcalf put in an amazing performance as the well meaning but world-weary mother who has a hard time fully embracing the person her daughter is becoming. Saoirse Ronan gives a wonderful performance as the wide-eyed, electric, and sensitive Lady Bird.
