Review of Into the Night (1988) by Zane T — 03 May 2010
I first saw this movie when it premiered in February 1985. I loved Landis' movies : Animal House, Blues Brothers, and An American Werewolf in London, and Time magazine had a rave review. So I was pumped up big time.
The teaming of Goldblum and Pfieffer can't miss right ? Wrong. I was so disappointed. I couldn't care less about Goldblum's insomnia or Pfieffer's jewel smuggling plight. Only reason to watch was non stop parade of director cameos, and other industry buddies of Landis' like Rick Baker.
I recently saw this movie again on HBO, to see if my opinion will change. Nope. Movie is just as stilted and dead in the water as ever.
