Review of Tokyo Sonata (2008) by Robbie H — 08 Sep 2008
Tokyo Sonata was the excellent blackest of black comedies, in the vein of Miike's Vistor Q and Todd Solondz Happiness, throw in some Lynch, Bergman, Haneke and Polanski moments and u got a very entertaining film.
It loses a little steam towards the end and some moments don't go as extreme as some of the filmmakers i've mentioned are known for, but it is still an incredibly beautiful film by a true modern master.
