Review of Tokyo Sonata (2008) by Bill B — 10 Jul 2010
The breakdown of a japanese family, a culture as rigid as any in asia, deserves a sensitive story and an equally sensitive director. It's harder to make an entertaining film about a family than about the destruction of the world.
Here, each family member acts with a perfect tone, they feel like a family, talk and walk like one. Even when crises hit, they react like a family. Good job.
