Review of Far Out Man (1990) by Ruhan R — 21 Jan 2011
This film is just Tommy Chong doing his thing the way he wants to do it. I do think that he's better in combination with Cheech Marin but the man knew what he was doing. Chong uses episodes and performers from his real life to depict an American life he could really relate to, and presented it via an outrageous comedy.
Sure it wasn't overly moving, but it did bear a message about times changing and the tragic decline of the hippie culture. The script was pretty funny, Chong being the most elaborate of all the characters of course.
All-in-all a sweet stoner flick, but a funny watch for non-stoners too.
