Review of Blue Velvet (1986) by Ted W — 19 Aug 2010
I can't believe I haven't rated this yet. This was one of those movies that I saw as a young adult that didn't insult my intelligence and transported me to a world I had never been. The Lumbertown landscape was believable because it retained enough of the landmarks that I was used to in real life and then in it ripped up the underbelly of corruption that was more surreal than anything I'd experienced at the time.
Brilliant performances all around.
