This was the template for many a siege picture to come. Still, it's unique in somehow melding sweeping vistas with claustrophobic action sequences.Looks a little less heroic though after learning that the Zulu were fighting their way up a sheer 9 foot rock wall plus sandbags to attack Rorkes Drift.

But then again, the Michael Bay Pearl Harbour movie had Cuba Gooding jr. shooting down scores of Zero's...
