Review of Zorba the Greek (1964) by Vanessa H — 07 Feb 2008
Not as good as the book, lacking its subtexts about Buddha and about Greek philosophy, and without them (or knowledge of them), it becomes more a character study between the two leads. Superb acting: Quinn is intense.
No surprises that it took an Oscar for cinematography.
