Review of Zoo (2007) by Chandler V — 06 Jul 2008
A pretentious mood piece with absolutely nothing to say- factually or interpretively- about its subject. the whole thing plays like an artsier 'unsolved mysteries' -style reenactment. the hyper-stylized presentation of zoophiliacs is so lacking in psychological depth, critical or emotional analysis, that it effectively glamorizes and romanticizes them.
..wouldn't be surprised if a horse-fucking PAC was behind this one. id also like to add that there is nothing even remotely courageous or artistically laudable about taking controversial material and tiptoeing around the substance of it.
it's a cop-out and an obnoxious one at that. frankly the more I think about this movie the more I kind of hate it.
