Review of Zombieland (2009) by Movie K — 21 Jul 2014

Funny and quite good zombie movie. Nice words overlay in the opening scenes. Jesse Eisenberg explain his own set of 5 rules to survive in the zombie world. He survives well as he is a loner too. Woody Harrelson drive a car and Jesse hitch a ride from him.

Woody adopt the no name rules to prevent been too close and he is an expert zombie killer. He is searching for twinkie. Jesse used is a gamer social paranoid who is stuck at home all day. His neighbor Amber Heard is hot and one day told him about a crazy man trying to bite her.

After napping, she become zombie and attack Jesse. The duo stop at a supermart to get twinkie and bump into Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin who is bitten and want to be killed. Emma take the shotgun acting to shoot but actually the 2 girls are lying to get their weapons and car, not trusting anyone but themselves.

The 2 guys walk their way and find a Hummer pack with many guns. Driving on the highway, they saw the stolen car. Woody go check but nobody is there. Abigail has already enter their Hummer when Jesse is alone.

Now the guys are hostages. Emma and Abigail were con expert. Emma pretend to find her engagement ring in the gas station and ask the attendant to help her find with reward. Abigail will pretend to find it first and get some small reward from the cash register before handing over.

They have some gun pointing along the way and Jesse tells them all the enemies are zombies not among themselves. Emma says Ohio is totally burn. That's where Jesse parents are. He decide to stick with the group instead of going Ohio alone.

They stop by a small store and have fun smashing it up. They reach Hollywood and visit Bill Murray big mansion. Jesse and Abigail go to the private cinema and watch "Ghostbusters". Emma and Woody plays around and Bill himself act as zombie try to scare them off.

Emma hit him with a golf club and Bill just yell in pain. He dress up to blend in with real zombies. Then they play act "Ghostbusters" with vacuum. Bill try to frighten Jesse and he really shoot him with the shotgun and killed him.

Abigail if he has any regret and Bill reply "Garfield". That's funny. Jesse and Emma dance after sharing stories and drinking wine. Woody teach Abigail how to aim and shoot. Next day, the girls left again.

They reach their destination - amusement park. Emma power up the place. The lights attracts all the nearby zombies. They run from the zombies and crash their car. They can only go high up one of the game to hide.

But off course what goes up must come down and they become sitting ducks. Jesse want to find Emma. Woody decide to go along. Abigail manage to shoot the control box and they stay up. Woody distract the zombies and shoot them.

Killing many of them, he hide in the soft toy kiosk and is surrounded. He place the mags and cool manner shoot and load kills all. Abigail and Emma are out of rounds and the zombies are climbing up. Jesse manage to kill a clown zombie, his worse fear defeated and save the girls.

Jesse finally kiss Emma and she tell him her real name. Woody go in the store to find twinkie but he blow the carton in the room. The guys thought Emma and Abigail is leaving them again when Abigail throw a twinkie to Woody and they all ride together.
