Zombie Honeymoon.

Released: October 4, 2004.

Director: David Gebroe.

Reviewer: Eric.

Zombies are every where and I know I've said this before in my Marvel Zombies and Marvel Zombies vs. Army of Darkness reviews. If I didn't say it then I'm sure I applied it some how because it's true. Ever since the remake of Dawn of the Dead back in 2004 we are seeing too many zombies, mainly in movies. One genre that hasn't been used too often for zombie movies is drama and I think it is safe to say that Zombie Honeymoon is the best and worst zombie drama movie.

When I say this is the best and worst zombie drama movie I am not kidding but this is more on the bad side. Zombie Honeymoon is about Denise and Danny, two nobody actors that just got married. While on there way to Denise's uncles house they listen to a lot of punk music, real bad punk music. During their get away at Denise's uncles house, which is considered their honeymoon, they want to have fun so they pack up some things and go rest on the beach, a private beach that Denise's uncle has.

During Denise and Danny's fun in the sun beach visit Danny does some surfing. At this point we find out he loves to surf, he does some real bad tricks that makes him look like an idiot. When Danny gets tired he takes a rest and before you know it a zombie comes out of the ocean. What do the two newlyweds do? Nothing, all they do is say "GO AWAY" and all of the sudden Danny gets a taste of zombie vomit all over his face. After that little scene we are now treated to the rest of this awful movie...

The make up in this movie is pretty sad. Danny's zombie affects remind me of George A. Romero's zombies, which in today's time is not a good thing. Romero made his first zombie movie in 1968, Night of the Living Dead, and then his second in 1978, Dawn of the Dead. In 1978 Romero used grey paint mainly to create the zombies, with some other colors here and there so all the zombies didn't look the same. In Zombie Honeymoon we have one zombie, a budget that is not nearly as small as the original Dawn of the Deads and all we get is shit. Where did the budget go in this movie? I sure in hell didn't see it in the death scenes, for the most part all these scenes were either your basic zombie massacred body or it was too lame. What happened?

Not only are we treated with a crappy looking zombie we also have bad acting. No this isn't your HAHAHA B-Rated movie acting, all the acting here seems to be done by high school students, trying way too hard to earn that A+ in theater class. I was not once convinced enough that Danny was a zombie. Denise was way to into herself at times, not giving a shit that her husband is a zombie. Ok if somebody I loved turned into a zombie I'd do something about it, I wouldn't think about having friends over or planning a trip out of the United States. Denise and Danny weren't the only bad actors in here too, the sheriff and the newlyweds friends didn't shine either. Seriously the sheriff this movie has to be the biggest dumbass in the world, he has a hunch but doesn't do much of anything about it until there is ten minutes left in the movie.

Zombie Honeymoon as some special features that will only please fans of this cult movie. Yeah that's right Zombie Honeymoon has a cult following some how, but let's not get into that right now. The only two features that are worth your time is the two behind the scenes features. One shows how they did the make up...no I'm not kidding. Thankfully this was short and I was interested in seeing how they made the blood (I'm trying to help the movie out here, this wasn't interesting). Behind the scenes feature number two is about the movie and how the director got his ideas for Zombie Honeymoon.

Final Verdict.

Zombie Honeymoon is pretty bad, it's worse than a B-Rated movie. The gore in this movie might be higher than some other zombie movies but it's is done so poorly, it looks fake. Not only that the acting is beyond belief, I've never seen a zombie act so bad in my life. I'm sure if you read about this movie before you might want to see it, Zombie Honeymoon has a big cult following and it got a few good reviews. Let me warn you though this is not up to par with other zombie movies and your wife or girlfriend will not want to watch this with you, trust me.
