Review of Zombie Flesh Eaters 2 (1988) by Kevin R — 06 Nov 2010
Every once in a while I like to take a piss on a bush. Am I going to go to hell for that?
An infected zombie is killed and cremated by our local government. The ash, once released into the atmosphere, infects those within close proximity of the government facility, turning them into zombies as well. As the outbreak spreads, the government tries their best to quarantine the area. Some survivors within the danger zone try to escape the clutches of the zombies as well as the government's extermination attempts.
"She's been clinically dead for two hours.".
Lucio Fulci, director of Zombie 2, Demonia, Conquest, Manhattan Baby, Zombie Hell House, and Black Cat, delivers Zombie 3. This movie has a common zombie storyline similar to the Night of the Living Dead series. The action scenes are solid and the gore is outstanding. The plot is not as good as the original picture while the acting is just mediocre.
"That's ridiculous, pure science fiction.".
While the action scenes were well delivered in this film, they were not as realistic as the previous picture. I couldn't get over the overuse of zombies falling from trees, roofs, or randomly from the sky. Fulci relied too much on the cheap scare tactics rather than his usual outstanding kill scenes. This is still a must see for fans of the zombie genre.
"I bet that fridge is empty too.".
Grade: C+.
