Review of Zodiac (2007) by Jay S — 02 Feb 2018

You can somewhat say it falls in the serial killer genre, but it's also largely a detective movie, and both elements work incredibly well together. This is darkly atmospheric film that gives a subtle feeling of constant dread, despite only a few murders throughout.

Along the way, I was heavily engrossed in Gyllenhaal's Robert Graysmith, a newspaper worker turned junior detective, as he pieces together clues and digs deep into his obsession of discovering who the Zodiac killer is.

It's both mesmerizing and chilling thanks to David Fincher's direction and knack for creating the appropriate atmosphere in his work.
