Review of Zero Effect (1998) by Luke M — 16 Jun 2007
Bill Pullman's best movie, that's for damn sure. A smart update of the Sherlock Holmes dynamic, based loosely on the short story, "A Scandal in Bohemia", the story where Holmes meets the woman he will always refer to as THE woman.
Even taken on its own, this is a very engaging mystery with some excellent acting all around, but especially from Pullman, who is for once not playing the nicest guy on the planet.
