Review of Zeitgeist: The Movie (2007) by William W — 16 Mar 2010
I gave Zeitgeist a high rating because it is thoroughly entertaining and exceptionally effective in delivering it's message. Sadly, you can pause the film at almost any point to Google the "facts" being presented and meet with disappointment. I did this at least 6 times and found that in all cases, the film makers had either exaggerated, left out facts that were inconvenient to their message or presented rumour and hearsay as outright fact. Twice I stopped on quotes purported to be the words of dead presidents. In one case the quote had long been proven to be wrongly attributed to the quoted individual, in the other case the quote shown on screen was known to be a jumbled amalgamation of several quotes by the quoted individual, merged out of context to create a new meaning.
Watch and enjoy it for what it is but don't be fooled into believing the makers of this film have a drop of journalistic integrity between them.
