Zack and Miri, two high school friends in a purely platonic relationship. Having been flat mates for the last ten years they haven't gained much in their lives and as they start to loose their water, their electricity and soon their apartment they are forced into dire circumstances.

With an idea sparked by a High School reunion, Zack and Miri, in an attempt to earn some money, make a porno. What they find is something neither of them would have thought of.

Some people might be put of by this title, deem it inappropriate, I say the opposite. I thought this film was brilliant. A fast and to the point movie about love and the complications of sexual politics.

Writer and director Kevin Smith has created a film that encapsulates the awkwardness of two friends in bitter circumstances perfectly. His funny and witty script draws on all kinds of comedy from slap stick to race-related even to some horribly disgusting moments... after all it's a porno.

But this film is so much more. Those going expecting to see something that has just come out of the playboy editing suites will be disappointed. This is a story about two friends who are unable to say what they really feel for each other in case they lose something that is already perfect.

Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks give two brilliant comedic performances. I have loved both these performers from previous outings and loved them even more in this. Their moments of high comedy were punctuated beautifully by scenes of sincere intimacy. Supported by a cast who performed with great fun and commitment, this film was a winner in every aspect.

It is nice to go and see a movie and be drawn in straight away with two loveable characters and some truly incongruous situations. A great film that was great fun.
