Review of You've Got Mail (1998) by Patrick L — 11 Aug 2013
You've Got Mail never struck me (as I recall) as a movie I wanted to see, I think because of the premise, any aired previews and that I had seen Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks in Sleepless in Seattle (though I recall enjoying it). Having taken a chance on the dvd I was amazed at the variety, types and interest level and the design of the special features and I consider this dvd the perfect example of what any dvd could achieve with enough care, thought and creativity.
I started to watch the film but was too tired to watch it all and so will try again. The film is great, enjoyable and heart warming with only a couple of annoying or false moments. Meg and Tom have chemistry but their initial romantic partners are less than appealing. 6/10.
