Review of You've Got Mail (1998) by Gary S — 07 May 2012
Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan reteam as two people who own rival bookstores. They despise each other in public, but they are also unknowingly flirting with each other through anonymous internet chats. You've Got Mail is an obnoxious romcom that preaches against big business while hypocritically serving as a shameless ad for AOL.
This film was also a painful experience for me since I can't stand Meg Ryan's constant mugging at the camera. She comes off more like an annoyingly chittering mouse than as America's Sweetheart (tm).
