Review of Youth Without Youth (2007) by Lavaughn H — 24 Dec 2007
Disappointing to say the least. Did he really need to turn some images upside down? Is there any surer sign that a filmmaker is reaching to make their adaptions cinematic? Why, also, are American directors, even accomplished and great directors like Coppola so scared of having characters actually sit down and talk about art or philosophy or whatever? We have to assume that Coppola has seen movies by Godard, Rohmer, Rivette et al, right?
