Review of Youth Without Youth (2007) by Actually B — 14 Apr 2008
"Youth Without Youth" tries, and succeeds, at being difficult to decipher. Language, reality, sanity and the supernatural are all heavily scrutinized in the plot and there is no shortage of disorienting camerawork especially towards the beginning.
This seems to echo the movie "BABEL" in it's interest in language as a focal point but goes far past "BABEL" with it's sci-fi story and begins to evoke Tartakovsky's "Solaris".
