Review of Youth (2015) by Vincent S — 16 Dec 2015
The listed genre is comedy, but I didn't see it. This is an art film at its heart, with Caine and Keitel playing off each other as 80-year-old buddies defining the end of their lives. The message is one must release oneself from the prisons of self-imposed rules to continue to grow.
This baby is filled with imagery and symbolism so go when you're alert and eager to absorb and analyze. The cameo by Jane Fonda is really the only 'ouch' touch in the film. Creative, inventive, with great cinematography, and should be seen on a big screen.
