Review of Youth (2015) by Antonio H — 28 May 2016
Paolo Sorrentinos's Youth grows with careless similarity to The Great Beauty. But it's a film that stands on its own, with superb performances by Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Rachel Weisz. Youth swings from the cruel kind of drama to an intelectually-pretentious imagery kind of cinema without giving satisfaction to any of those.
The film always keeps the balance and dives into a challenging narrative followed by a great rythm just like a simple song and never letting fall into the unnerving. Youth accomplish on being a film the going on the questions about life itself, the passing of time, what people cherrish at the end of life and what people crave in the dawning of this one.
..at youth.
