Beautiful film - visually stunning, inventive and artistic. Stunning photographic set pieces, my particular favourite being a cow concert in the Swiss alps! surrealist dream / hallucination sequences and a positive message - emotion and love is everything! Optimistic despite the age of the two protagonists.

Tour de force by Michael Caine, who manages the quivering lip and rheumy eyes of repressed emotion as a composer who isnsists he has retired - from composing, loving, or living, we are left to ponder - until life catches up with him.
