Review of Your Sister's Sister (2011) by Panta O — 09 Dec 2012
I have to simply say: I loved this romantic comedy/drama! Emily Blunt is already one of my favourites but the pleasant surprise were Rosemarie DeWitt and Mark Duplass. Superb performances of all three of them thanks to their abilities to get the maximum out of the well developed screenplay, with the help of a skilful directing of Lynn Shelton. The story of Jack, emotionally unstable individual, who takes up an offer from his brother's ex girlfriend Iris to stay at her father's isolated cabin, was so smooth and easy going that it felt real from the beginning to the end regardless the odd moments happening all around the place. And it is so catchy, that it will occupy your head so quickly that you can't stop thinking about it... for a while!
The screenplay works on a few levels, covering the subjects of romance, grief and sibling rivalry with invigoratingly honest dialogue and easy humour. If you love absurdly likeable acting, delightful screenplay and passionate directing - this is my choice!
