Makoto Shinkai is being touted as the next Miyazaki, after this and Garden of Words it's hard to argue. This is in the top 4 grossing in history in Japan. It's very well made but corny adolescent romance is not really my thing, having heartstrings pulled is not appealing after a certain age (40 in my case).
