Review of Your Name. (2016) by Claire J — 09 Apr 2017
Excellent animation. Finally, it has been released in the United States. The first time I saw this movie was on a flight from San Diego to Singapore. It has a complex plot and amazingly beautiful cinematography.
Due to my international travels, I have seen it 3 times on a plane and now once in a US movie theater. Each time I watch it, there is more to discover. This is definitely a movie you need to see a few times to capture most of the plot nuances.
I am looking forward to getting it on DVD. So far, I have seen it in Japanese with English subtitles. There is something charming about hearing the original language. The actors doing the voices have much passion in their delivery, so I am very happy to watch this in Japanese, even though I only speak English.
Makoto Shinkai is a master. I am so thankful fpr him sharing this masterpiece with us. Awesome movie. You need to see this!
