Whilst Attenbrough does paint a very intimate and and at times shocking portrait of a Young Churchill. He has directed 'Young Winston' in a way that makes it seem as if it is over reliant on "My early life" the book on which the film is based and this does cause it to come across as more of a talking book with visuals rather than a film.
