Review of Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) by Michael G — 11 Jul 2010
John Ford's telling of the earlier days of Abraham Lincoln, before he was president. Henry Fonda gives a terrific portrayal of the man. The film is generally about Lincoln taking on his first case as a lawyer defending two young men in a murder trial.
Ford somehow despite using cliche in his film, still manages to craft a compelling and beautifully shot work.
