Review of Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) by Timothy J — 28 Dec 2014
Hitchcock was once asked to name his three favorite directors. He responded with John Ford, John Ford, and John Ford. And one of John Ford's favorite actors was Henry Fonda. This film is a great collaboration between the two.
Fords films are both simple and yet epic. Fonda has the ability to beautifully portray a character with out overstating any role. Fonda's portrayal of Lincoln is inspiring. The makeup is amazing. He looks more like Lincoln and is almost unrecognizable as Fonda.
