Review of Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) by Christy K — 26 Dec 2016
I really liked Henry Fonda's down-to-earth portrayal of Abe Lincoln as a young lawyer. You get a sense of his beginnings in politics. I do think the courtroom procedure was very inaccurate (if procedure was applicable back then) but I believe it was dramatized for movie purposes and not to be viewed at as an accurate courtroom procedure drama.
Still, the best part was the symbolic ending....of Lincoln walking straight ahead into a storm...hence his political career and thus the unraveling of a nation in which he was to be charged with saving.
