Review of Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) by Melanie W — 22 Mar 2008
This was a fascinating movie, which is not a surprise since John Ford was behind it. This is a story of our 16th President as he was just finding himself . He decides that he is interested in becoming a lawyer and discovers that law is just right versus wrong, a principle that stuck with him through his presidency.
(A principle that would indeed be refreshing in this day and age) Even though this movie was fictionalized, it allowed the viewer to see what was behind one of our greatest presidents. If he had not shown the determination to pursue the idea of right versus wrong, who knows how long slavery would have been allowed in the U.
S. Truely a "must see" for those who embrace American History.
