Review of Young Guns (1988) by Andrew F — 29 Apr 2011
I've seen this movie so many times growing up, but I haven't again seen it until recently. A lot of creative liberty taken on this film which is not uncommon in a lot of westerns both old and new.
This one is still fun 20 some years later. Lots of action. The acting in it is still great with great actors and characters. Lots of things I either didn't notice when I was young or forgot. It is basically a story about a bunch of orphans in a sense avenging or bringing to justice those who killed their "father.
" While some of the musical scores are a bit outdated and feel very late 80's it still works for the most part. A fun film. Doc and Kid are my favorite characters. Ironically so is Dick who dies early in a very ironic character in contrast to current Tiger Blood Sheen.
Terry O'Quinn was a also a nice surprise in contrast with his best role as John Locke on LOST. a fun movie. i'm glad I bought the DVD and watched it again.
