Review of Young Guns (1988) by Ducknation — 24 May 2014
A good western with some great actor. The Story follows William H. 'Billy the Kid' Bonney (Emilio Estevez) and his pack of wild cowboys on adventures during the late 1800's. After John Tunstall (Terence Stamp) is murdered billy and the gang that call themselves The Regulators set out to for justice after given warrants for the arrest of the murders. Billy seeking revenge for his friend challenges Richard 'Dick' Brewer (Charlie Sheen) authority as leader 'i thought that was pretty funny since they are brothers in real life'. Billy doesn't care for authority and go's onto kill some of the murderers and even a group member. Though he was working for the leader of the "bad guy Murphy (Jack Palance) ".
Now they are the ones being hunted down still wanting revenge The Regulators continue on with the warrants despite being chased by the law. They get into a shootout with one of the man they have been looking for Dick gets shot down leaving Billy to be the leader. From then on out the gang tries to stay low and try not to be spotted one of them even get married down in mexico. Hearing news that Murphy's men were going to be attacking soon. they set off for their lawyers house while inside a group of Murphy's men show up starting another shootout it continues for hours till they have a ceasefire for the night. The battle continues the next morning when the army accompanied by Murphy himself.
They set the house on fire forcing The Regulators to go outside continue the shootout Chavez "Lou Diamond Phillips" manages to get horses. While trying to get away they all get shot and both Charley (Casey Siemaszko) and Dirty Steve Stephens (Dermot Mulroney)end up dying. Billy then turns around on his horse goes into the road stops then shoots Murphy right in the head.
Overall I give it a 7.
