Review of Young Guns (1988) by Countess N — 02 Apr 2011
Young Guns is always a weird but wonderful mix-match of the classic Western married with the John Hughes 80s style teen adventure.
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly this is not but what it is, is a very solid modern twist on the classic tale of Billy The Kid.
For late 80s early 90s standards the cast is remarkable.
Emilio Estevez plays a charming but very warped young man in his portrayal of Billy, a leader of men but with a vicious and callous steak.
Add to that Kiefer Sutherland a icon and 80s cinema Superstar well before his glory days in "24", Charlie "The Madman" Sheen know to a younger generation for being madder then Colonel Gaddafi and sleeping with a Porn Star and a Nanny at the same time (Legend - Maybe for the wrong reasons) and legendary British actor Terrence Stamp to name but a few...
Young Guns brings a little bit of lighthearted entertainment to a movie genre normally reserved these days for serious movie making and plots.
All in all a full filled 2hrs of action and witty one liners...
