A perceptive, honest and darkly funny look at going back home. Charlize Theron excels as Mavis, a sad and unfulfilled adult who returns to her hometown to try and reclaim her high school sweetheart. This is a non sentimental and unflinching look at small town values.
Thankfully it doesn't pull any punches. Jason Reitman is a talented director whose take on modern life is always worth taking in.
